If you've travelled on the road of life a bit, you've probably already figured out that there's a couple of major injustices in the universe that we are all going to have to deal with eventually.

One of them has to do with the fact that Shane is going to get on his horse some day and ride off across the prairie and nothing you scream after him is going to make any difference.

The other has to do with the fact that Brandon de Wilde, the little boy who chased after Shane (and haven't we all?), grew up to be such a fine and beautiful actor, only to have his life cut short by a senseless automobile accident in 1972.

It's kind of comforting to know that a performer this special was probably more needed elsewhere -- just like Shane. Maybe they're together.
