James MacArthur

The Young Stranger

Director: John Frankenheimer

1957

We found this great -- well gorgeous -- portrait of James MacArthur and the more we stared at it the more we began to think that it was somehow a 20th Century equivalent of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa . It's usually very late at night when we get these notions, but this time we think we may actually be on to something (as opposed to on  something). Note how the two sides of the face seem to suggest totally opposing personalities. Let us know what you think.   (meeker@airmail.net)
