Mamie!

Mamie
Van Doren .
. . the name says it all: a style, an era, a certain luster that somehow
has been lost in the movies, probably forever. If we seem kind of arbitrary
about some of the stars we choose to worship around here, you can be sure
that we're dead serious about Mamie Van Doren.
You see, this is one of the few living legends that we've actually met
and worshiped from a distance of a few inches. And we are happy to report
that she is not just a star from head to toe, but also a courteous and
charming lady who truly appreciates her fans. No wonder she's practically
the sole surviving blonde bombshell.

Mamie, we love you.
High School Confidential
Director: Jack Arnold
1958
SOMETHING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT: Gig Young and Mamie Van Doren, co-stars of Perlberg-Seaton's "Teacher's Pet," supporting the starring performances of Clark Gable and Doris Day, have something to be happy about. Already their film is being acclaimed a hit by preview audiences in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. Gig plays a psychology professor and Mamie has a quite different role -- she's a night-club performer.
