| For just a few minutes in the late 1950s and early 1960s, pretty much every other movie you saw featured great-looking Mark Damon in one of the lead roles. In 1960 you maybe traveled into town to see Mark in that new Vincent Price flick, House of Usher, and later that same afternoon you maybe saw Mark again in a TV broadcast of the three-year-old Young and Dangerous, one of two films he made with Connie Stevens. As far as we can remember, Mark Damon actually had a modicum of natural acting ability, but in this actor's case dramatic skill was hardly a major consideration. Take a look at his face. The camera loved that face! And a lot of people in the dark -- for just a few minutes in the late 1950s and early 1960s -- also loved that face. |
