| Of the hundreds of actors and actresses mentioned or honored in various locations around the Meeker Museum, we find it kind of strange that we seem to get more inquiries about Michael Schoeffling than just about anybody else. Well, maybe it's not so strange. Just look at the guy! It's probably true that we dwell a bit too much on looks and sex appeal around here, but let's be honest -- dramatic skill doesn't mean a hell of a lot when you're putting together a collection of stills and posters on a particular performer. Mr. Schoeffling should have his own museum (or maybe a temple of worship) simply because photographs of him are worthy of attention even if you never plan to see one of his films. However, when somebody does force you to watch something like Let's Get Harry or Vision Quest, it's a nice bonus to discover that Schoeffling actually has both talent and screen presence to burn. He's certainly no George C. Scott or Rod Steiger or Robert Duvall -- and for this we can all be eternally grateful! We just have one question: where the hell is Michael Schoeffling these days? |
